Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Digital Tweaks ("we", "us", "our"), the company behind SellScope (the "Service"), collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use SellScope at sellscope.io. It also explains your rights under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

1. Who we are

  • Company: Digital Tweaks
  • Registered in: the EU
  • Contact for privacy questions: [email protected]

2. What this policy covers

This policy covers personal data we process when you visit sellscope.io, create a SellScope account, connect your Etsy shop, and use the Service. It does not cover Etsy's own processing of your data: Etsy is an independent data controller, and your use of Etsy is governed by Etsy's own Privacy Policy.

3. The data we collect

a) Account data: when you sign up: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. If you sign in through a third party, we receive your name and email from that provider.

b) Etsy connection data: when you connect your Etsy shop, you authorize SellScope through Etsy's official OAuth process. We receive and store the access and refresh tokens that let SellScope read your shop's data on your behalf, along with your Etsy shop identifier. We never see or store your Etsy password.

c) Etsy shop data (processed to provide analytics): using the Etsy API and only with your authorization, we read data from your shop such as your listings, orders and receipts (sales and revenue), reviews, and your Etsy payment-account ledger (fees, ad spend, refunds, the basis for the real-profit figures). We use this to calculate and display your analytics. In line with Etsy's API terms, we do not keep a long-term copy of Etsy's raw listing content; we retain our own derived figures (for example your sales or profit history) and fetch current Etsy content fresh when you view it.

d) Payment data: paid plans are billed through Stripe. Stripe collects and processes your card details directly; we do not receive or store your full card number. We store your subscription status, plan, and billing metadata (such as the last four digits and billing country) that Stripe returns to us.

e) Usage and technical data: basic information created as you use the Service: log data, device/browser type, IP address, pages used, and essential cookies needed to keep you signed in.

4. How and why we use your data, and our legal bases

What we do Why Legal basis (GDPR)

Send optional product/marketing emails Only if you opt in Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), withdraw any time
Meet legal/accounting obligations Because the law requires it Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c))

We do not sell your personal data, and, as Etsy's API terms require, we do not share Etsy member data with advertising or marketing platforms. We also do not use your shop's data to build separate products, datasets, or market benchmarks: we use it to provide SellScope to you and nothing more.

5. Who we share data with (our processors)

We share data only with service providers who help us run SellScope, under contracts that require them to protect it:

  • Etsy: we call Etsy's API to read your shop data, using the access you granted.
  • Stripe: payment processing (Stripe is the processor for your card data).
  • Our hosting/infrastructure provider: to run and store the Service securely.
  • Email provider: to send account and (if opted in) product emails.

We may also disclose data if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect our rights, users, or the public.

6. International data transfers

If any provider processes data outside the European Economic Area, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (or an adequacy decision) to protect your data.

7. How long we keep it

  • Account and connection data: for as long as your account is active, then deleted or anonymised within a reasonable period after you close it (unless we must keep certain records for legal/accounting reasons).
  • Derived analytics (e.g. your sales/profit history): kept while your account is active so your trends work; removed on account deletion.
  • Etsy raw content: not retained beyond what's needed to show it to you, consistent with Etsy's freshness rules.
  • Etsy tokens: deleted when you disconnect your shop or close your account.
  • Billing records: kept as long as tax/accounting law requires.

8. How we protect your data

We use encryption in transit (HTTPS) and encrypt sensitive items such as your Etsy tokens at rest, restrict internal access, and follow reasonable security practices. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and will notify you and the authorities of a personal-data breach where the law requires.

9. Your rights under GDPR

You have the right to: access your data; correct it; erase it; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time (without affecting prior processing). To exercise any of these, email [email protected]: we'll respond within the time the law requires (normally one month).

You can also delete your account at any time, and disconnect your Etsy shop from within SellScope (which removes our access) or from your Etsy account settings.

If you believe we've mishandled your data, you may lodge a complaint with the Romanian supervisory authority, the National Supervisory Authority for Personal Data Processing (ANSPDCP), dataprotection.ro, or your local EU authority.

10. Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to run the Service (for example, to keep you signed in) and, if you consent, limited analytics. We don't use advertising cookies. You can control cookies in your browser; blocking essential cookies may stop you signing in.

11. Children

SellScope is a business tool not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from children.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If we make material changes we'll notify you (for example by email or in the app) and update the date above. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
